Spotters Guide
A list of changes from year-to-year for the various BMW 02-series cars. This is not a detailed guide to every change made during the production of these cars across the entire product line. It is a summary of changes.
Vehicle Identification Number ("VIN") Information
The BMW O2-series uses a 7-digit number for the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). This section contains some interesting applications (known to work with IE6.X and not with Firefox yet):
- The introduction contains an interesting program for taking a VIN and then searching through a database to locate the range of VINs it falls between. It will return to the user, a desciption of the car and the estimated production period to the user.
- The second program actually searches through the list of VINs and returns a table based on the query input by the user.
Esoteric & Selecting a Mechanic
Sometimes you just need some advice on what to look for and there is no good place to put it. Therefore, this section is about the kind of seller you want. It is also my "Miscellaneous" section for all interesting tidbits when I have nowhere else to put it. :-)
Although working on the 02-series is easy and enjoyable, sometimes you just need a professional's expertise, tools, and skills. I also have a list of things you should be looking for in a professional mechanic.
